[--January.13th At The El Mocambo Show Review--]

Another show, another great time!! Each performance was spectacular!! The crowd got bigger, and bigger as the night progressed and it was a great turnout. We want to thank each artist and every single fan that came out to the show. We would also like to thank El Mocambo staff members AD Goldsmith and Victor, and our friend Steph for helping us out by doing the doors for us all night.

[The Performers]

Caitlin Burgess (7:00)

Opening the show with an amazing voice was the very talented acoustic singer/song writer Caitlin Burgess. I can tell you not just from our point of view, but alot of people, including her fellow performers had nothing but good things to say about her. And we are told that one of her fellow performers are in talks with a possible collaboration, so that will be very awesome if it works out!! Caitlin sold copies of her CD at the show, and if you are interested in buying one yourself, you can contact her at the information I list below and ask her how you can go about doing so.

Sing Bandana Singh
(7:30)
Sing Bandana Singh brought her strong, amazing voice to the stage in the 7:30 spot . Normally a 3 piece group with drums and bass, this show featured Bandana doing a solo act. With every song she sang, you could feel her passion for music come with it. Bandana had a solid crowd of friends to support her, and many new fans after her set was finished.

Batista Feat.Brizz
(8:00)
Making his second appearance for Heroic Entertainment was solo artist Batista, this time performing his own songs with Brizz as his hype man. At our first show November.28th-2010 "The Battle Against Cancer" The positions were reversed. Batista & Brizz brought the calm, soothing feeling in the El Mocambo to a halt as soon as they hit the stage with there solid beats and vocals. Not many shows mix genres, but we here at Heroic Entertainment have no problem doing it, as we have seen the positive outcome each and every time. You can catch Batista & Brizz performing at the El Mocambo again Sunday January.30th for a charity event we are co hosting with Viki Ziemba. Visit our myspace and facebook page for more details!!

Disputa
(8:30)
The trio that is Disputa were absolutely AMAZING!! Very good musicians, each member was amazingly solid on his instrument, including drummer Mario Garay doing the more rare task of singing and drumming. Playing guitar and singing as well was Omar Bruno, who also treated the fans to many amazing guitar solos. Solidifying a solid set was Brian Richards on bass, with rocking bass lines and lots of enthusiasm.

Viral Spiral
(9:30)
The trio of Viral Spiral, Rob on vocals, Shawn on drums, and Jason on bass was a very strong set. Alot of the fans had the look of enjoyment on there faces as the guys in Viral Spiral did there thing. The sound that the group plays is the type of song that you can't get out of your head, and take my word when I say you will not want to get these one's out of your head, they are great!!

House Of Coconuts
(10:00)
The 5 guys in the House Of Coconuts took the closing spot on short notice, and we really appreciate it. We know these guys are true musicians and would play at 1 PM or 1AM all for the love of music. They put on a great show as always to cap off the night. They will be playing our February.6th-2011 show at Rancho Relaxo, so be sure to come check them out!!

  1. House of Coconuts, Disputa and Batista Beat were so much fun to watch and a reminder of the tsunami of talent in the Toronto band scene! I wish I'd been there earlier to see Caitlin and Sing Bandana... Max runs an awesome lens and the whole deal for bands is great what with Mike's video/photos deal for bands on the bill. Heroic Entertainment is a heroic effort indeed!!!
